The event in Bishkek presented the results of the nationwide media campaign "Women's Leadership That Changed an Era - 100 Years," dedicated to the centenary of the women's movement in Kyrgyzstan. As part of the event, a new website "100 Outstanding Women of Kyrgyzstan" was launched, featuring stories of women who made significant contributions to the development of their country.

According to the organizers, the goal of the campaign is to bring back into public consciousness the names of Kyrgyz women whose achievements in state building, social affairs, education, culture, and labor have long remained in the shadows. Over the past year, the project team managed to collect, document, and translate 126 stories of women from different historical periods, as well as digitize family archives. These materials have been published on social media and partner media outlets.

On the website, the stories are organized by regions and periods of activity, with search and sorting options available. The platform is open for new submissions: anyone can propose a new heroine by sending a description and archival materials through a special form.

The program of the event included an official opening with the participation of representatives from government structures, deputies of the new convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh, and international partners, as well as an interactive quiz on the history of the women's movement and an opportunity to communicate with the organizers, researchers, and participants of the project.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic Ainura Orozbaeva, speaking at the presentation, noted that supporting women's leadership is an important aspect of state policy, enshrined in the presidential decree and the program until 2030. She emphasized that the development of women's leadership is the key to sustainable development and social justice.

The organizers added that the work on the project has become not only a research initiative but also a significant public initiative aimed at recognizing and preserving the contributions of women for future generations.

The event was organized by the Alliance of Women's Legislative Initiatives with the support of the GFA Consulting Group project "Civic Participation for Development," funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
