A monument to the film director Tölömüş Okeeva was unveiled in Bishkek

On October 30, a ceremony was held in Bishkek to unveil a monument to the outstanding film director, People's Artist of the USSR, and laureate of the Toktogul Tölömüş Award, Okeev. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

High-ranking officials present at the event included State Secretary Arslan Koychiev, Presidential Advisor Marat Imankulov, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Umbetaly Kydyraliev, Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, as well as Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva. The Secretary General of the international organization TURKSOY, Sultan Raev, and representatives of the A. Akmatov Public Fund also marked this important moment, alongside the director's colleagues and family.

Tölömüş Okeev became known for films such as "Bakaydyn Zhayyty," "Kök Serek," "Kyzyl Alma," "Altyn Küz," "Kozhozhash," and "Urkuya," which not only reflect the spiritual values and history of the Kyrgyz people but also contributed to the international recognition of Kyrgyz cinema.

The Ministry of Culture emphasized that the film "Bakaydyn Zhayyty" has secured a place in the list of the 100 best films in the world, bringing significant fame to Kyrgyz cinematography.

The installation of the monument was part of events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the great director and aims to preserve his contribution to national culture, as well as to pass on his creative legacy to future generations.
