On December 26, at the IV People's Kurultai, President Sadyr Japarov addressed the delegates who expressed a desire to build Houses of Culture in their villages.
He asked them to postpone the implementation of this project, noting that existing facilities are not functioning and only take up space. Japarov emphasized that such buildings require maintenance and cited the House of Culture in his native village as an example.
“They are not used. Only occasionally do artists come to hold concerts,” the president added.
In his opinion, it is necessary to focus on the repair or construction of Houses of Culture in the districts, as large assembly halls are being created in schools, which is more of a priority.
“I say this to avoid questions like, ‘Oh, they are asking, let’s build a House of Culture.’ State construction, do not waste funds unnecessarily,” he concluded.
