- On December 26, during the IV People's Kurultai, President Sadyr Japarov responded to discussions by delegates regarding the deterioration of the Bayetov–Kosh-Döbö road due to ongoing construction work for the railway.

The head of state noted that the new railway project is of strategic importance for the country's development.

“Work is ongoing, and the road will be completed. Some say: 'The Bayetov–Kosh-Döbö road is destroyed. Trucks are ruining all the roads because of the railway construction.' Patience is required. Trucks will not fly in the sky; they continue to move on the roads,” he emphasized.

The president added that after all the work is completed, road repairs will be conducted.

“Everything will be restored and put in order. This railway is vital for Kyrgyzstan. Thanks to it, we will become a transit country, which will bring income comparable to Kumtor. According to our calculations, we can earn about 500 million soms in net profit from each cargo passing through this route,” Japarov noted.

Additionally, he mentioned the development of surrounding areas as part of this project.

“Villages and districts along the railway will develop. Therefore, there is no need to complain about the condition of the road: 'Our road has deteriorated, we are suffering.' We need to wait a little. This project is for the future; it will serve for a long time. It is worth enduring for this,” he added.
