The Housing and Communal Services Committee for the Fuel and Energy Complex approved the project for the construction of an overhead power line between the "Kemin" substation and the new "Balikchy" substation.
- At an extraordinary meeting held on December 26, the Committee on Industrial Policy, Transport, Energy, Architecture, and Construction approved the draft loan agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project concerns the construction of a 500 kV overhead power line from the "Kemin" substation to the new "Balikchy" substation, as well as a grant agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic, the joint-stock company "National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan," and the same bank.
Deputy Minister of Energy Emilbek Ismanov presented information about the project.
According to him, the project includes three main components, and the total cost is 67.7 million euros, of which 61.7 million euros is a loan, 3 million euros is a grant, and another 3 million euros is a grant for technical assistance. The loan is provided for a period of 20 years with a grace period of 5 years at an annual interest rate of 1%.
During the discussion, Deputy Kunduzbek Suimanov expressed support for the project and inquired about its completion timeline.
In response, the speaker stated that construction work under the project is planned to be completed by the end of 2028.
