The signing of the agreement took place between Bakyt Sydykov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Toshimitsu Motegi. This document concerns the elimination of double taxation on income taxes and aims to prevent tax evasion.
The agreement will establish clear tax relations between the two countries, affirming the right to tax certain types of income for each state. It also includes guarantees related to the elimination of double taxation, which, in turn, will create more favorable conditions for increasing trade volumes and attracting foreign investments into the economy of Kyrgyzstan. In addition to the signing of the agreement, during the business forum, Bakyt Sydykov and the Director General of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Ishiguro Norihiko, discussed an Action Plan regarding the development of the potential of the Export Development and Promotion Center "Kyrgyz Export." This center will operate in cooperation with JETRO.
The document was signed for the practical implementation of a previously concluded Memorandum of Cooperation between the "Kyrgyz Export" Center and JETRO, which was formalized on August 10, 2024, in Astana.
Furthermore, during the visit, an agreement was reached to establish an intergovernmental commission between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, which will address issues of trade, economy, culture, and human resource exchange.
