In the Issyk-Kul region, the construction of a plant quarantine laboratory will begin, which will improve the phytosanitary safety of the region. This project is being implemented with the support of the Islamic Development Bank and is carried out by the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Plant Quarantine of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
A budget of 350,000 US dollars has been allocated for the implementation of this project, which will be used for construction as well as for the purchase of laboratory equipment, office technology, and furniture.
During a recent meeting between the director of the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Plant Quarantine, Maxat Kocherov, with representatives of the Islamic Development Bank and the company "UniHelp," an agreement was signed for the supply of necessary equipment and furniture amounting to 14,170,121 soms.
The establishment of this quarantine laboratory is an important step towards enhancing phytosanitary safety in both the Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions.
It will help not only to reduce damage from quarantine pests but also to strengthen the region's economy by protecting its natural resources. The modern laboratory will serve as a reliable tool for agricultural production, enhancing export potential, preserving forest resources, and ensuring environmental safety, emphasizes the Ministry of Agriculture.
