In Bishkek, at the Toktogul Satylganov Kyrgyz National Philharmonic, the IV People's Kurultai is taking place with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.
There are 700 delegates from all corners of the country present at the event, among whom 51 represent the Issyk-Kul region, who will raise 48 issues.
The distribution of delegates by districts is as follows:
- Ak-Suu District — 8 delegates,
- Jeti-Oguz District — 10 delegates,
- Issyk-Kul District — 10 delegates,
- Ton District — 7 delegates,
- Tyup District — 9 delegates,
- city of Karakol — 4 delegates,
- city of Balykchy — 3 delegates.
Before the start of the kurultai, the delegates analyzed the relevant issues on-site and discussed them with local authorities, identifying the main questions that require urgent solutions. They plan to convey these issues to the relevant government structures during the People's Kurultai.
In particular, the delegates from the Issyk-Kul region will raise topics related to the socio-economic progress of the region, the protection of Lake Issyk-Kul, the development of the tourism industry, environmental issues, the improvement of the wastewater system, the construction of small hydropower plants, addressing irrigation problems, and the rational use of pastures.
The first People's Kurultai took place in November 2022, the second in December 2023, and the third in December 2024.
