On December 22, construction of the Eastern Bypass Road began in Bishkek. The press service of the city administration presented a map on December 25, indicating the route of the road and the adjacent streets.
The project of the new road, which will be 16 kilometers long, will be located in the eastern part of the capital, beyond the urban development. As part of this project, the construction of five interchanges is planned, as well as the construction and reconstruction of neighboring streets:
Leo Tolstoy Street — from Auezov Street to the Eastern Bypass (5.7 km);
Akhunbaev Street — from Auezov Street to the Eastern Bypass (3 km);
Sukhbaatar Street — from Auezov Street to the Eastern Bypass (2 km);
Zhukeiev-Pudovkin Street — from A. Tokombaev Street to Imanaliev Street (2.2 km);
Imanaliev Street — from Zhukeiev-Pudovkin Street to April 7 Street (3 km).
The total length of all roads associated with the eastern bypass will be 32 kilometers.
