According to Mamiraim Jumabaev, head of the gastroenterology department at the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is actively spreading both in Kyrgyzstan and beyond its borders. In an interview on "Birinchi Radio," he noted that this disease affects nearly a third of the country's population.

The doctor explained that the main factors contributing to the development of this disease are an unhealthy lifestyle, poor nutrition, and a lack of physical activity. If measures are not taken, it can lead to serious consequences such as cirrhosis and other dangerous liver diseases. Additionally, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease may be associated with diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Jumabaev also reported that stomach cancer has become the most common oncological disease among men and women in Kyrgyzstan. Previously, stomach cancer was the leading cancer only among men, while breast cancer was the most common among women, followed by pelvic organ cancer and stomach cancer. However, recently, stomach cancer has also been increasingly observed in women.

The gastroenterologist noted that there is a rise in inflammatory bowel diseases among young people, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

According to statistics, 75% of visits to gastroenterologists in recent years are related to functional disorders of the digestive system, while 25% of patients suffer from organic pathology. Functional disorders are often caused by lifestyle and diet. Organic diseases are divided into three categories:

- diseases of the stomach and duodenum with increased acidity;

- diseases of the liver and bile ducts;

- diseases of the intestines.

The main symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders include sudden weight loss, the presence of blood in the stool, anemia, and enlarged lymph nodes. The primary causes of diseases are lifestyle, nutrition, and lack of rest.

To maintain normal functioning of the digestive system, it is essential to be physically active and eat properly, including more fruits and vegetables in the diet while reducing fast food consumption, the gastroenterologist added.
