In 5 years, sown areas in Kyrgyzstan have increased by almost 2%, reaching 1.25 million hectares

- According to statistical data, over the past five years, from 2020 to 2024, the area of agricultural crop sowings in Kyrgyzstan has increased by 23.1 thousand hectares, which corresponds to a growth of 1.9%. By the end of 2024, it amounted to 1,246.7 thousand hectares. 

In 2024, the largest share in the structure of sowings is occupied by grain crops (excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat), which cover 602.9 thousand hectares, accounting for 48.4% of the total area. Forage crops take second place with 404.3 thousand hectares (32.4%). Potato sowings make up 66.4 thousand hectares (5.3%), while vegetable crops cover 54.8 thousand hectares (4.4%).

The most significant growth over the five-year period is observed specifically in the grain sector: compared to 2020, the area of their sowings has increased by 29.6 thousand hectares, which is 5.2%. 

Among grain crops, barley holds the most significant share, occupying 41.6% of the total area of grain sowings.
