Ministry of Labor: the official unemployment rate in Kyrgyzstan is 1.4%

This figure is 21.5% lower than at the same time last year.


According to information received on October 1, 2025, the population of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 7 million 374 thousand people.

The total labor force in the country reached 2 million 861 thousand people. Of these, 2 million 756 thousand are employed, while the number of unemployed is 104.7 thousand, corresponding to an overall unemployment rate of 3.7%.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration reported that as of December 1, 2025, the official unemployment rate stood at 1.4%. There are 58,565 unemployed individuals registered with employment services, which is a decrease of 21.5% compared to the same period last year.

Of the officially registered unemployed, 39,841 people, which is 26% less compared to the data from 2024.

Among the registered unemployed, the majority are individuals with a general secondary education — 23,422 people, including 10,244 women. The next largest group consists of citizens with basic general education (grades 5-9) — 9,435 people, including 4,205 women.

Additionally, among the unemployed, there are 2,447 individuals with secondary vocational education, of which 1,496 are women. There are 2,586 individuals with higher education, including 1,683 women. 1,450 unemployed individuals have primary vocational education, of which 621 are women. 501 individuals have general primary education (grades 1-4), among whom 216 are women. There are 7 individuals without any primary education, none of whom are women.
