The son of Almazbek Atambayev, Kadyrbek, claims in his letter from the pre-trial detention center that he has become a victim of manipulations used for blackmail, arrest, and potential threats to his father's life.

According to him, the authorities are trying to portray him and his like-minded individuals as "field commanders" allegedly planning an armed takeover of power; however, Kadyrbek calls this merely a figment of their imagination.

A significant point is the date the criminal case began - November 17, coinciding with the moment when Almazbek Atambayev responded to criticism.

In Kadyrbek's opinion, the case was fabricated from the very beginning and is based on false information. He claims that on the very first day of the investigation, he faced threats of torture when he tried to call a lawyer. "My family and I were unjustly expelled from our home; I received an illegal travel ban, which prevented me from accompanying my father to the hospital. This summer, all my friends and like-minded individuals were convicted, and the party headquarters was seized unlawfully," he reported.

Kadyrbek noted that his father has survived five assassination attempts during his political career. The last one occurred during the events of October when his car was shot at, but instead of initiating a criminal case, Atambayev was accused of organizing the assassination attempt against himself. In the country, he said, mysterious deaths in pre-trial detention centers no longer surprise anyone.

"I have become a hostage and a tool of blackmail, which could lead to fatal consequences for my father. I wouldn't be surprised if the accusations escalate into threats with pictures of a gun to my temple, as I have already received threats of torture during the investigative actions," he emphasized.

On November 23, law enforcement conducted searches and detentions in connection with a case regarding calls for mass riots. This was triggered by a video featuring Temirlan Sultanbekov, which served as the basis for the initiation of investigative activities.

During the case, several politicians and former officials were detained or summoned for questioning, including Kadyrbek Atambayev, Shailoobek Atazov, Syimyk Japykeev, Kubanychbek Kadyrov, and others. Searches were also conducted at the homes of relatives of politicians and journalists, including former First Lady Raisa Atambayeva.

It later became known that some of the detainees, including Temirlan Sultanbekov and Kadyrbek Atambayev, were placed in a temporary detention facility. Others, such as Adakhan Madumarov and Syimyk Japykeev, were released after questioning.

Subsequently, Kadyrbek reported that the case against him had been reclassified to a more serious charge - "attempted violent overthrow of power."
