
In 2026, the New Year holidays promise to be interesting thanks to nine new series. This diverse list includes British detective stories, comedies, psychological thrillers, and superhero tales. Below are the series that will make the festive week from December 29 to January 4 more exciting.

“Supergen,” sci-fi, second season (January 1)
The life of courier Michael Lasaki changes when he receives shocking news about the impending death of his fiancée. To save her, he must find four people with similar superpowers who also live in South London. In the second season, the loss of his fiancée turns Michael into an obsessed avenger. Time travel hasn’t helped, and now he is set to confront those who manipulate events from the future by assembling a team of superheroes.

Simon, who previously lived carefree, finds himself in a nightmare situation when his daughter Paige goes missing. After finding her in a park, he sees that she is suffering from drug addiction. Now he is determined to bring his daughter home, but dark secrets await him on the path to her rescue.

“Purely English Murders,” detective, 22nd season (December 29)
This detective series is based on the works of Caroline Graham and continues to tell stories of complex crimes in English villages. Elegant detectives tracking cunning criminals operate against the backdrop of the picturesque landscapes of Midsomer County, where even naive villagers can become embroiled in dark affairs.

“Dear Life,” drama, premiere (January 1)
Lilian, grieving, begins to stalk the people who became organ recipients of her deceased fiancé. Her suffering turns into obsession as she starts invading the lives of strangers who hold pieces of her loss in their homes.

“When Calls the Heart,” melodrama, 14th season (January 4)
This adaptation of Janette Oke's novel tells the story of schoolteacher Elizabeth Thatcher, who moves from the hustle and bustle of the city to a small coal mining town. Here, she will face harsh living conditions and support her new friend Abigail, who has recently lost her husband in a mine accident.

“Wish Map,” comedy, premiere (January 1)
The main character, 30-year-old Olesya, faces difficulties in finding her place in life. Conflicts with those around her hinder her, but when her dreams start coming true, she finds common ground with her loved ones. Sometimes, to improve relationships, one must resolve their own internal conflicts.

“Zhenya Russell,” comedic fantasy, premiere (January 1)
Zhenya, dreaming of love, finds himself in the body of a dog after being cursed by a witch. Now he must find a way to return to human form before the full moon.

Katya, a wealthy heiress, hides from her father's pursuers in Yaroslavl, where she meets Lesha—a simple guy. They decide to get married so that Katya can live with him in the garrison, but will they be able to establish true understanding with each other?

“MF Ghost,” anime, third season (January 2)
The events of the series take place in the 2020s, when autopilots have become commonplace. This innovation has significantly reduced the number of accidents, and only electric vehicles remain on the roads. As a result, Japanese auto racing MFG is gaining popularity.
