The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new decree regarding the New Year holidays of 2026. This decision was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliev.

According to this document, employees of state and municipal institutions, as well as organizations and enterprises funded by the state budget, will receive extended New Year holidays. Two additional days off—January 8 and 9, 2026—will be added.

Thus, employees will return to work on January 12, considering that the weekends of January 10 and 11 are also non-working days.

An important point is that the decree does not provide for the transfer of working days, which means that the additional days off are granted without changes to the established work schedule.

This decision is aimed at supporting families and creating conditions for parents to spend time with their children during the winter school holidays.

Leaders of private companies are also encouraged to take this decree into account in their practices.

The decree comes into effect on January 1, 2026.
