This decision is aimed at consolidating resources—financial, material, and intellectual—as well as enhancing the competitiveness of higher education in Kyrgyzstan on the international stage. This reorganization is being carried out in accordance with the presidential decree concerning the education sector.
After the merger process is completed, the Kyrgyz National University will become the legal successor of all reorganized universities. The Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations has been tasked with developing a new charter for the university, conducting the state re-registration process, and ensuring the continuity of the educational process. Meanwhile, funding for educational grants will continue within the framework of the republican budget.
At the same time, previous government decisions regarding the establishment and status of Batken, Talas, and Naryn universities will be rendered invalid.
The decree will come into effect ten days after its signing.
