As the New Year holidays approach, specialists from the Republican Center for Health Promotion remind us that there is no safe dose of alcohol.

Medical professionals emphasize that "every sip of alcohol causes significant stress to the body and leads to the destruction of tissues. All organs and systems are negatively affected by alcohol."

According to them, "even a small dose of alcohol leads to a permanent reduction in the number of cells in the cerebral cortex, and this process is irreversible — the cortex does not recover."

According to data from the RCUZ, 100 ml of a 40-degree drink results in the death of 1,000 cells of gray matter in the brain, which are then excreted from the body through urine.

Australian scientists have confirmed that even among people who consume alcohol moderately (two to three times a week), there is a gradual decrease in brain volume, which can lead to alcoholic dementia.

Furthermore, alcohol is associated with about 60 different diseases, and in most cases, there is a direct correlation between the amount consumed and the body's response.

Medical professionals conclude: "The more a person drinks, the higher the likelihood of developing a disease. The New Year is a great time to give up this harmful habit for the sake of your health!"
