As the New Year approaches, it's time to take stock. Our team Kaktus.media visited the New Year fair and learned about the joyful events that took place in the lives of Kyrgyzstani people over the past year.

Responses varied from significant purchases to personal achievements and changes in life priorities.

One woman from Bishkek noted that the most important thing for her was gaining self-confidence.

“I realized that I am capable of more than I thought. I just decided to be kinder to myself and believe in my abilities — and I succeeded. Now I have a new job with a salary twice as high. This is the best thing that has happened to me,” she shared.

However, not all respondents agree that the year was successful. One man expressed that due to the global situation, he finds it hard to call this year good. “In my opinion, nothing special happened this year. The war continues, prices are rising, life is tough,” he shared.

Nevertheless, many respondents noted positive changes. One girl happily reported that she fulfilled her long-time dream: “I bought a car — this one,” she said with a smile.

Others also shared joyful moments, such as: “I met my loved one” and “I have changed significantly this year — for the better.”

For some, the past year turned out to be a time for making difficult but meaningful decisions. “I got divorced, and that became a good event for me. I started taking better care of myself and working on my development,” one woman shared.

Additionally, there were family events. “I married off my daughter. Now I have a son-in-law. It was both joyful and exciting,” one of the survey participants recounted.
