Shaarbubu [Shaarbübü] Kaldybay kyzy has been teaching physics at Oi-Tersken Secondary School in the village of Acha-Kayindy, At-Bashinsky District of Naryn Region for 13 years. In addition, she leads an astronomy club that is very popular among students.
In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, she shared her experience and passion for astronomy. "In 2013, I graduated from Naryn State University and started working at Oi-Tersken School. I received my secondary education at Samudun Myrzakmatov School in the village of Birlik. My teachers played a significant role in my choice of profession. I believe it was the lessons from my physics teacher that inspired me to pursue this path. I really enjoyed her classes. In 2019, as part of the 'Chyny-Karaghat' project, Begaim Myrzalieva organized a club for growing currants at the school. Within this project, one of the girls involved in the international community suggested training, after which the school was gifted a telescope, a laser pointer, and an atlas. According to the terms of cooperation, the school was to work with the project for 5 years, after which the telescope would remain at the educational institution. Thus, the astronomy club was established. Previously, this subject was taught as a separate discipline but was later combined with physics. Since 2019, the club has started teaching all interested students," the educator recounts.
In 2022, according to Shaarbubu, a competition for teachers took place, in which they participated and became winners. "We were invited to Poland, where we visited 5 cities, scientific centers, historical sites, and learned about the educational system. Later, our students also went on a week-long study trip, where they studied astronomy and conducted night observations of the stars," she reported.
Shaarbubu Kaldybay kyzy shares her students' achievements in astronomy. "We learned a lot from developed countries, and there are now many programs available. One could say that our students have developed their astronomical knowledge. Some of them can recite from memory the characteristics, significance, and colors of stars. They have many interests; in this era of globalization, students' interest in science is strong. Now, in accordance with the demands of the time, we must teach this science. A child's worldview should be multifaceted. We need to give children direction and motivation. Then they will continue to develop and explore. There are 88 constellations, and one could say that among our students, there are those who can recite from memory each bright star and expand their knowledge. We have students who can recite from memory about celestial bodies. It is important that we uncover at least one talent in each student," the teacher stated.
Shaarbubu Kaldybay kyzy was born on December 18, 1991, in the village of Birlik, At-Bashinsky District of Naryn Region. In 1998, she entered the first grade of Oi-Tersken Secondary School in the village of Acha-Kayindy, where she studied until the third grade. From the fourth to the eleventh grade, she continued her education at S. Myrzakmatov Secondary School in the village of Birlik, At-Bashinsky District. In 2009, she graduated from this school and enrolled in the agrarian-technical faculty of Naryn State University named after S. Naamatov, which she successfully completed in 2013.
After that, she continued her studies in the university's master's program, where she received a master's degree in pedagogy in 2015. In her professional career, she began working as a physics teacher at Oi-Tersken Secondary School in 2013.
Over the years of work, Shaarbubu has received several Certificates of Honor. In 2018, with the support of the head of the Polish fund Evelina Gradzka and a public fund, a training seminar titled "Under the Kyrgyz Sky. Astronomy for the Development and Support of Biocultural Diversity" was organized, which involved five schools from across the republic.
According to Shaarbubu, at that time her dream was realized – the school received a telescope, an atlas, a laser pointer, and certificates. That same year, the astronomy club "Astra-Zhailoo" was organized as part of the "Under the Kyrgyz Sky" project. In the same year, with the participation of an expert from Poland, Evelina Gradzka, a festival on the theme "Astronomical Phenomena in Kyrgyz Myths" was held.
In 2023, she participated in a competition, won, and organized a 10-day trip for 10 students of the astronomy club to Issyk-Kul, where an educational and excursion tour was organized, including a trip to Karakol. She and her students were awarded certificates.
Currently, Shaarbubu continues to work on this project and prepares students for participation in school olympiads.
