In an interview with First Radio, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev shared measures to support farmers in the Talas region.
According to Torobaev, during the autumn period, when the price of beans significantly decreases, the government allocated 100 million soms to assist farmers. As part of this initiative, 1,000 tons of beans were purchased at a price of 95 soms per kilogram.
“In the autumn, farmers need to prepare their children for school and universities, and during this period, they especially require financial support. The state has not remained indifferent,” the minister emphasized.
He also added that an increase in bean prices is expected in January and February.
Currently, negotiations are underway regarding the possibility of exporting products to India, Iran, Russia, and Turkey, as well as discussing the supply of beans to the Dubai market.
Additionally, farmers in the Talas region are recommended to diversify their crops, including sugar beets and safflower. Safflower is used for producing oil, cake, and straw, and is considered a valuable feed. Currently, there are more than 50 small enterprises in Kyrgyzstan engaged in the production of safflower oil.
