As the New Year holidays approach, there is an active spread of fraudulent links on social networks and messengers, disguised as holiday greetings, giveaways, and gifts. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the agency, criminals are sending messages promising cash prizes or gifts from government organizations, banks, and well-known personalities.

“When users click on such links, they are asked to enter personal data, information about bank cards, or confirmation codes, which are then used to steal money and hack accounts. The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges citizens to remain cautious, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and not disclose personal information, even if the message appears to be an official greeting or comes from an acquaintance,” the statement notes.

If you have become a victim of fraud or suspect a leak of your personal data, you should immediately contact law enforcement at the number 102.
