The discussions on the new General Plan for the city's development until 2050 have concluded in Bishkek. This document became the subject of extensive public hearings, which sparked significant interest among the residents.

The discussions took place over two days: on the first day, issues concerning the Lenin and Pervomaisky districts were discussed, while on the second day, the focus was on the Oktyabrsky and Sverdlovsky districts.

The event was attended by Bishkek's Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov, Deputy Head of "Bishkekglavarkhitektura" Aziret Akimov, specialists from the St. Petersburg Research Institute who developed the General Plan, as well as local residents. According to the organizers, the number of participants exceeded 400 people.

Speaking at the hearings, Irina Grishechkina, representing the developers, emphasized that the General Plan covers numerous aspects and takes into account both the territorial and social conditions of the city.

She noted that Bishkek is well-positioned for tourism; however, geological faults limit construction in the south. At the same time, the area of state property in the city is small, which complicates the construction of social facilities. As a result, point multi-story construction is actively developing in Bishkek.

Grishechkina also reported that there are about 300 registered cultural heritage sites in Bishkek, of which nearly 50% have already been lost. "Preserving history is extremely important," she added.

Furthermore, she pointed out the lag of social infrastructure behind the needs of the population. In particular, the availability of kindergartens is only 30%, and about 300,000 children are waiting for admission. The situation with educational institutions and hospitals is equally alarming: the availability of schools is 35%, and hospitals and ambulance stations are around 35%. Additionally, the level of provision of sports halls and swimming pools is lacking: 58% and 10% respectively, which is an extremely low figure for the capital.
