PM2.5 consists of solid particles smaller than 2.5 microns, which is 30 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. These particles include a mix of dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates present in the air. They contribute to the formation of smog typical of large cities.
In terms of air pollution levels on February 16, Bishkek ranks 68th in the world ranking (11:00).
