In the Chuy region, in the Sokuluk district, a fatal traffic accident occurred involving the driver of a "Subaru Legacy" vehicle.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the "Subaru" lost control of the vehicle and collided with another car. After that, he attempted to flee the scene but again lost control and drove onto the shoulder. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver died at the scene from his injuries.
According to the press service of the Traffic Safety Department of the Interior Ministry of the Chuy region, the tragedy occurred on January 8, 2026, around 02:00. The driver of the "Subaru Legacy," named A. uulu M., born in 1994, was traveling on the Bishkek–Osh highway from west to east. Near the intersection of Frunze and Moscow streets in the village of Romanovka, he crashed into the rear of a "Kia Optima," which was also traveling in the same direction at high speed.
After the collision, the driver of the "Subaru" fled the scene of the accident, continuing eastward. Around 02:30, while driving the same vehicle in the village of Romanovka, he lost control at high speed and crashed into a tree located on the left side of the road.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the "Subaru Legacy," A. uulu M., succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The "Subaru Legacy" was placed in an impound lot. Necessary examinations have been appointed.
