A tragic incident occurred in Bishkek involving a pedestrian who was fatally injured as a result of a car collision. The driver suspected of this crime was soon apprehended.
According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident took place on December 27 around 11:00 PM. The driver, R. M. D., born in 2004, was driving a Hyundai Sonata when he struck pedestrian K. A. T., born in 1995, who was crossing the road from west to east near the "Anel" restaurant on 7th April Street. After the collision, the driver fled the scene.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
As a result of operational measures, the suspect was detained and handed over to the investigative authorities of the Bishkek City Police Department. This case has been registered with the AMT of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and a criminal case has been initiated under part 4 of Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect is currently in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek Police Department based on Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the results of an examination conducted at the Republican Center for Psychiatry and Narcology, it was established that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
At this time, the vehicle has been placed in a specialized impound lot. Necessary examinations have been appointed, based on which an appropriate procedural decision will be made in accordance with criminal procedural legislation.
