“Yesterday, January 1, at 21:04, we witnessed a dangerous situation on the highway. We were traveling at a speed of about 90–100 km/h when we were overtaken at high speed by 'Hyundai Sonata' and 'Lexus' vehicles. Just a minute later, we saw the carcass of a cow on the road, and right behind it was an overturned 'Lexus' car.
This incident once again highlights how serious the problem of traffic accidents involving domestic livestock is, especially at night,” the witnesses said.
According to official information from the police, on January 1, 2026, at approximately 21:21 in the village of Toru-Aygyr, a resident of Bishkek, A.B.B., born in 1992, driving a 'Lexus GX470', while traveling on the Balakchy — Ananyevo — Karakol highway at the 204th kilometer, collided with a cow that suddenly appeared on the roadway, resulting in the accident.
As a result of the accident, material damage was caused. This traffic accident has been registered in the electronic journal of the Issyk-Kul District Department of Internal Affairs. Currently, the investigative service is conducting the appropriate verification activities.
