The tax rate has been halved, and its collection will be carried out by the bank itself
The State Tax Service held a meeting with representatives of banks and the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan, during which changes in tax legislation related to the special tax regime "Transaction Tax" were discussed. This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Service.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that according to the law adopted on December 31, 2025, the transaction tax rate has been reduced from 0.2% to 0.1%. An important aspect of the discussion was the automation of tax administration processes and the creation of electronic services for interaction between the State Tax Service and financial institutions.
Representatives of the Tax Service reminded that the banks where accounts are opened act as tax agents and are obliged to independently withhold and transfer the tax to the budget when conducting transactions.
It should be noted that enterprises engaged in transactions can only apply the special tax regime "Transaction Tax," while conducting other activities in the country is not permitted in this case.
In addition, taxpayers must submit an application for the application of this regime by February 1, 2026, at their place of tax registration.
