The tax on banking transactions has been reduced in Kyrgyzstan

The tax rate on transfers through foreign banks is now 0.1 percent, down from 0.2 percent.

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has announced a reduction in the tax on transactions conducted through banks in other countries. The rate has been lowered from 0.2 percent to 0.1 percent.

These changes were made to the Tax Code in accordance with a law that was adopted on December 31, 2025.

The updates pertain to a special tax regime known as the "transaction tax." This regime applies to monetary operations where funds are transferred from an account in a foreign bank to the taxpayer's account in a bank in Kyrgyzstan and then transferred back abroad.

The bank conducting the transaction will act as a tax agent, withholding and remitting the tax to the budget.

Entrepreneurs wishing to take advantage of this regime must submit an application for its use at their tax registration location by February 1, 2026. They are not allowed to engage in other activities within the country.

If the transactional activity overlaps with other business operations, the taxpayer will need to register a separate legal entity or individual entrepreneur.
