As reported, on January 9, a video recording of the incident was published by Alpha News and CNN. The footage shows ICE agent Jonathan Ross opening fire, resulting in the tragic death of Rene Good.

The video lasts less than a minute and captures the moment leading up to the shooting. Ross stands next to a maroon SUV, with Good behind the wheel. The vehicle was parked across the road, creating an obstruction to traffic. The agent, walking around the car, photographs the license plate while Good tells him, "I'm not mad at you."

The recording also shows Rene's spouse, Becca Good, who asks the agent to show his face and claims that the car's number will remain available if he wants to make contact later. At that moment, as she tries to return to the vehicle, the door is found to be locked.

Then another officer approaches the car and demands that Good exit the vehicle. The woman begins to move backward and then turns away from the officer and starts moving forward. At that moment, Ross's shouts and the sounds of gunfire are heard. The camera suddenly tilts up, and it is unclear whether the vehicle hit the agent. However, according to CNN, another video taken by a witness shows that the SUV may have slightly grazed Ross, causing him to bounce aside. At the end of the recording, the sound of Good's SUV colliding with another car can be heard.

Rene Good was an active participant in a so-called neighborhood patrol, a volunteer group monitoring the actions of ICE agents. The incident occurred against the backdrop of a large-scale operation by federal authorities, during which about two thousand personnel were sent to Minneapolis, which the Department of Homeland Security called the largest operation in its history.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz condemned this operation, calling it "reckless management of the country in the spirit of a reality show."

Following the tragedy involving Rene Good, mass protests against the actions of the immigration service took place in Minneapolis and other cities across the U.S. Experts and human rights advocates emphasize the need for a thorough investigation, pointing out that the agent's actions may have created a situation in which the use of firearms became possible.
