On March 3, in the Chelyabinsk region, on the A310 highway, employees of the Ural Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor, in cooperation with customs services, prevented the import of two significant batches of planting material. The incident occurred in close proximity to the MAPP "Bugristoe".

The trucks arrived from Kyrgyzstan. One of them was transporting 72,100 seedlings (cherry, pear, plum, thuja, sweet cherry, roses, and strawberry rootstocks) intended for delivery to the Nizhny Novgorod region and unloading in Kirov. The second truck carried 160,000 seedlings, including pears, apple trees, mulberries, sweet cherries, roses, and gladiolus bulbs, destined for the Mari El Republic with planned unloading in Moscow.

During the document inspection, inspectors identified discrepancies: part of the plant labeling lacked information about the place and plot of origin, which violates the norms of the EAEU legislation in the field of plant quarantine.

The import of such seedlings into Russia is prohibited, as dangerous diseases or pests may be introduced under the guise of healthy plants.

In connection with the identified violations, Rosselkhoznadzor employees drew up the relevant acts and orders for return. Both trucks were sent back under the supervision of the agency.

The record of Rosselkhoznadzor's actions at the border regarding more than 230,000 seedlings from Kyrgyzstan first appeared in K-News.
