- Carrots: $570 per ton — 10% more expensive than in Armenia and three times more expensive than in Kazakhstan.
- Beets: $497 per ton — 2.3 times more expensive than in Russia.
- Potatoes: $373 per ton — 2.5 times more expensive than in Belarus.
- Onions: $329 per ton — ranks third, close to the average level.
Special attention should be paid to pome fruits (apples, pears).
In December, Kyrgyzstan became the leader in price for this product, setting the cost at $977 per ton. This is 24% higher than in Russia ($787 per ton) and 51% higher than in Armenia ($646 per ton).
| 🥕 Carrots | $570 | $350 | +63% |
| 🫒 Beets | $497 | $335 | +48% |
| 🥔 Potatoes | $373 | $273 | +37% |
| 🍎 Pome Fruits | $977 | $807 | +21% |
It is also worth noting that Kyrgyzstan ranks 5th in price for tomatoes and cucumbers, making it the most affordable market in the EAEU for these vegetables.
| 🥒 Cucumbers | $970 | $1747 | −44% |
| 🍅 Tomatoes | $1093 | $1863 | −41% |
Thus, the data for December shows that Kyrgyzstan, despite its small economy, demonstrates both high and low prices for plant-based products depending on the category.
For example, a kilogram of cucumbers in Kyrgyzstan costs $0.97 — significantly cheaper than in Russia and Kazakhstan, where the price reaches $2.27 and $2.22 respectively. However, when analyzing prices for basic products such as carrots, the situation changes: the price in Kyrgyzstan ($570 per ton) is three times higher than the price in Kazakhstan ($186) and twice as high as in Russia ($235). Beets and potatoes are also priced high, confirming Kyrgyzstan's leadership among EAEU countries in the costliness of these products.
Prices for wheat ($237 per ton) and barley ($217 per ton) are also higher than in neighboring Kazakhstan and Russia, reflecting complex geopolitical conditions.
For example, the price of pome fruits in Kyrgyzstan ($977 per ton) turns out to be higher than in Belarus ($817) and Russia ($787), which is an unexpected fact.
Thus, Kyrgyzstan demonstrates a unique dynamic in the agricultural market: simultaneously high prices for some products and affordable prices for others, making it an interesting player in the EAEU economy.
