As a result of the week, the cost of the minimum grocery set decreased by 1 som, amounting to 6,722 soms.
We monitor prices weekly for the same set of products in a supermarket. Below is complete information on which specific items are included in our basket and the reasons for their price fluctuations.
Please note that prices in supermarkets and markets may vary. Stores often have promotions, allowing customers to purchase items at reduced prices.
Since the start of our monitoring in late October 2018, the cost of the grocery basket has increased by 3,452 soms. Since the beginning of this year, it has decreased by 1 som, but compared to the same period in 2025, there is an increase of 710 soms.
The least expensive product in our basket remains bread. Fresh vegetables and fruits have the most significant impact on the overall cost of the basket, leading to price changes.
In 2025, the cost of the grocery basket increased by 686 soms. The lowest price was recorded on October 18 — 5,791 soms, while the highest price was observed on December 6 — 6,927 soms.

The nutritional standards for citizens of Kyrgyzstan were approved by the government back in 2009, according to which each person should consume 9 types of products per month.
This list includes: 9 kilograms of bread products, 5 kilograms of meat, 8.2 kilograms of potatoes, 9 kilograms of vegetables, 10 kilograms of fruits and berries, 2 kilograms of sugar, 17 liters of milk, 1 liter of vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 100 grams of fish, and 200 grams of tea.

Based on the minimum standards established by the state, we conducted calculations to determine the cost of the consumer basket for a family of four, using prices from one of the supermarkets in Bishkek. Recently, many residents prefer to shop in large stores.
It is worth noting that the calculations of product consumption are approximate and based on the approved standards. People's needs vary: some do not eat meat, while others do not like sugar, so our basket should not be perceived as the only truth. It is more of a social experiment from 24.kg.
Grain products include both bread and pasta and cereals. Our family is considered average, so they choose apples and bananas for fruits, and onions, carrots, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, and tomatoes for vegetables. No excess — only necessary products.
