Recently, a list of the best wrestlers in the world according to the United World Wrestling (UWW) for the year 2025 was published, which includes several athletes from Kyrgyzstan.
Among the 17 Kyrgyz wrestlers represented in the freestyle rankings, the following achievements stand out:
The highest position — 4th place — was taken by Bekzat Almaz uulu in the category up to 57 kilograms.
Ernazar Akmataliev, a bronze medalist at the World Championship, secured 5th place in the weight class up to 70 kilograms.
Almaz Smanbekov is in 12th position in the category up to 57 kilograms, while his colleague Abdumalik Karachov is in 44th place.
In the weight class up to 61 kilograms, Taiyrbek Jumashbek uulu is ranked 9th, Bekzat Almaz uulu is 16th, and Bekbolot Myrzanazar uulu is 19th.
Taiyrbek Jumashbek uulu finished in the top ten in the category up to 65 kilograms, while Bilol Sharip uulu is in 32nd place, and Ikromjon Khadzhimurodov is in 57th.
In the category up to 70 kilograms, Ernazar Akmataliev again shows a good result, occupying 5th place, while Omurbek Taalaybek uulu is in 45th.
Among the wrestlers up to 74 kilograms, Orozobek Toktomambekov took 10th place.
Arsalan Budazhapov is in 34th position in the weight class up to 79 kilograms.
