The problem affects thousands of Kyrgyz citizens
At the parliamentary meeting on January 29, Deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva suggested that the Ministry of Internal Affairs consider the possibility of amnesty for fines on cars purchased by power of attorney.
She emphasized that this issue concerns many citizens and remains unresolved.
“Every day, the number of requests from citizens who cannot establish contact with the previous owners of their cars is increasing. These cars are often sent to impound lots, where their owners are forced to pay 100-150 soms daily. Some vehicles can remain there for years, and former owners refuse to pay the fines,” the deputy noted.
