In most countries, fasting will begin tomorrow
February 19 has been declared the first day of the month of Ramadan, according to information from DUMK. The agency refuted rumors circulating on social media that fasting would begin today, February 18.
“Based on astronomical observations and calculations, we have determined that February 18, 2026, corresponds to the thirtieth day of the month of Shaaban, and the first day of Ramadan falls on February 19,” the Spiritual Administration noted. They added that in most Muslim countries, fasting will indeed begin tomorrow.
