The area of the fire was about 30 square meters.
According to the city hall, firefighters arrived at the scene within 9 minutes. Due to the specifics of the facility, 4 units of firefighting equipment were deployed, as well as medical assistance and ambulance teams.
High-ranking officials arrived at the emergency site, including the mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Kanat Sagynbaev.
Unfortunately, as a result of the incident, two palliative patients in critical condition lost their lives. Additionally, 11 people were hospitalized for observation due to possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to the city hall, fire and tactical drills were conducted at this facility in July 2025, and all safety measures were followed.
"The main building of the Nursing Home was not damaged. The fire occurred only in one room of the palliative care ward. Evacuation will be carried out as needed," the city hall clarified.
The mayor instructed the relevant services to check all documentation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The causes of the fire will be determined following the work of the competent authorities.
