After the nighttime attacks on oil storage facilities in Tehran carried out by the USA and Israel, fuel that leaked from the damaged tanks flooded the drainage and sewage systems.

The fire quickly spread through the nearby streets, but it was soon localized.

According to reports from the Iranian Red Crescent, a large amount of toxic substances was released into the atmosphere as a result of the explosions, including hydrocarbons, sulfur oxides, and nitrogen oxides, which subsequently caused acid rains.

These precipitation events may pose a health risk to the population, causing chemical burns to the skin and lung damage.

As reported by The Times of Israel, as a result of the attacks targeting five oil facilities in Tehran and its surroundings, four people were killed, and plumes of fire and thick smoke rose over the city.
