
In the foothills and valleys, rain may turn into snow by evening, while in mountainous areas, precipitation will mainly be in the form of snow.
In regions such as Devashtich, Shahriston, Gorno-Matcha, Rasht, Sangvor, Lakhsh, Varzob, Ishkashim, and Shugnan, snow cover of up to 30 cm is expected. In the foothill areas of Faizobod, Khovaling, Muminabad, Baljuvan, Shamsiddin Shohina, Penjikent, Ayni, Shahriston, and Istaravshan, 3–10 cm of snow is predicted.
According to forecasts, precipitation is expected to cease on March 11 during the day.
Due to the intrusion of cold air, temperatures are expected to drop by 9–14° from March 10 to 11.
The situation in mountainous areas and on the Anzob and Shahristan passes will become avalanche-prone. In the foothills of Penjikent, Ayni, Khovaling, Muminabad, Shamsiddin Shohina, and Darwaz, mudflow phenomena are possible. On the Yaksu, Kyzylsu (southern), and southern slopes of the Gissar Range, water levels are expected to rise.
Meteorologists warn of possible complications in weather conditions, including deterioration of road conditions, fog, ice, as well as temporary disruptions in transport and utility services from March 10 to 11.
It was previously reported that March in Tajikistan would be warm; however, the amount of precipitation is expected to exceed the norm. Thunderstorms and even hail may be recorded on some days.
