The "Kazhydromet" expects snowstorms, fog, and an increase in wind, reports Orda.kz.
On February 16, a storm warning has been issued for Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and 16 regions of Kazakhstan. Meteorologists forecast snow, rain, snowstorms, fog, ice, and winds that may reach speeds of 15–20 meters per second.
In Astana, precipitation in the form of rain and snow is predicted throughout the day, along with low-level snowstorms and ice. Wind gusts may reach 15–20 m/s.
In Almaty, fog and ice are expected during the night and morning hours.
During the day in Shymkent, rain will occur, and the wind will strengthen to 15–20 m/s.
The North Kazakhstan region will face snow and snowstorms at night, and during the day—precipitation, snowstorms, and ice. In Petropavlovsk, precipitation and gusty winds are also forecasted.
In Akmolinsk region, snow and snowstorms are expected at night, and during the day—precipitation and ice. In Kokshetau, precipitation and winds up to 15–20 m/s are also predicted.
Kostanay region may experience heavy snow in the north at night, while precipitation will continue during the day. Fog and gusty winds are expected in the region.
In Karaganda region, light precipitation, localized fog, and ice are possible during the day. In Karaganda, ice is also expected in the afternoon.
Pavlodar region will face rain and snow, low-level snowstorms, and ice throughout the day.
In West Kazakhstan region, precipitation, snowstorms, and fog are predicted, while in Uralsk, the wind may strengthen to 15–20 m/s.
Aktobe region expects snow and snowstorms at night, as well as localized fog. The wind will strengthen to 15–18 m/s.
In Atyrau region, fog and ice are forecasted, and in Atyrau, ice is possible at night and in the morning.
In the north of Mangistau region, ice and fog are expected at night, while in Aktau, the wind will strengthen to 15–20 m/s during the day.
In Zhambyl region, ice and occasional fog are predicted. In Taraz, the wind will strengthen to 15–20 m/s.
In Turkestan region, rain will occur at altitude at night, and during the day, precipitation is expected in several areas, with heavy rain in the mountains. Thunderstorms are possible in the south.
In Abai region, fog is expected at night and in the morning.
In East Kazakhstan region, fog is also forecasted at night and in the morning. In Ust-Kamenogorsk, meteorologists warn of fog.
In Ulytau, a combination of rain and snow, low-level snowstorms, and ice is possible during the day and morning.
In Kyzylorda region, ice and fog are possible at night and in the morning.
It was previously reported that temperatures are gradually rising across the country. According to "Kazhydromet," a cyclone is moving from west to east, bringing precipitation. In Astana, daytime temperatures range from -1 to +1 °C, in Almaty from +8 to +10 °C, and in Shymkent from +15 to +17 °C. Despite the expected warming, meteorologists warn of strong winds, fog, and ice.
