From February 13, snowfall and blizzards are predicted in northern Mongolia, and by February 14, the worsening weather will affect the eastern part of the country. At the same time, a drop in temperature is expected in most regions, with strong winds in the mountainous areas of Altai and Gobi, as well as in the steppe regions.
According to meteorologists, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on February 12, 2026, the weather in the country will be mostly cloudy. Snow is expected only in the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, and Khövsgöl, while no precipitation is anticipated in other places. In the western part of the country, the wind will shift from a southwesterly to a northwesterly direction, while in other regions, wind speeds will range from 4 to 9 meters per second, and in the mountainous areas of Altai, it will reach 15-17 meters per second.
According to the weather forecast, in the area of Lake Uvs and the Darhad Basin, as well as in the upper reaches of the Zavkhan River and the Tes River valley, temperatures will range from -20 to -25°C. In the Mongol-Altai, Khövsgöl, and Khangai mountains, as well as in the upper reaches of the Zag-Baydrag River, temperatures will vary from -13 to -18°C. In the Khentii mountains and in the valleys of the Orkhon, Selenge, Kharaa, Kherlen, and Khalkh rivers, temperatures are predicted to be from -7 to -12°C. In the foothills of the Khangai Range and the southern part of Gobi, temperatures may reach 0 to +5°C, while in the eastern Gobi, where snow cover is low, temperatures will be between 0...+5°C, and in other regions, from 0 to -5°C.
As for the capital, Ulaanbaatar, variable cloudiness without precipitation is also expected. The wind will be from the southwest, at a speed of 3-8 meters per second, and the temperature will range from 0 to -2°C.
