Weather conditions in Mongolia from February 9 to 13, 2026:
From February 9 to 13, a variety of weather conditions are expected in Mongolia. In the mountainous areas of Khuvsgul and the foothills of the Altai, light snow is possible on February 9, while on February 12, snowfall may affect some western aimags. On other days, no snow is forecasted. The wind will blow at a speed of 3-8 meters per second, but on the 12th in the Altai Mountains, its speed may increase to 14-16 meters per second.
Temperature readings are expected to rise in most regions against the backdrop of cooling. At night near Lake Uvs, in the Darkhad Basin, Zavkhan, at the source of the Zag-Baidrag River, as well as in the valleys of the Ider, Tes, and Yeruu rivers, temperatures may drop to -31–36°C, while during the day, they are expected to be -19–24°C. In the mountain ranges of Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentii, as well as in the valleys of the Orkhon, Selenge, Kharaa, Tuul, Terelj, and Kherlen rivers, nighttime temperatures will range from -25 to -30°C, while daytime temperatures will range from -13 to -18°C.
In the foothills of the Khangai Mountains and in the southern part of the Gobi region, daytime temperatures will vary from -7 to -12°C, with daytime highs potentially reaching +4 to -1°C. In the northern part of the Gobi region, daytime temperatures are expected to be between -12 and -17°C, while during the day, they will range from -1 to -6°C. In other regions, nighttime temperatures will remain between -17 and -22°C, while daytime temperatures will be in the range of -4 to -9°C.
