A sharp drop in temperature is expected in Mongolia

In the coming days, cloudy weather is expected in the country; however, no precipitation is forecasted. The wind will blow from the northwest at a speed of 5-10 meters per second, and in the Gobi and steppe regions, its speed may reach 12-14 meters per second.

In the northern and western parts of Mongolia, such as the vicinity of Lake Uvs, the Darhad Basin, and the valleys of the Tes, Orkhon, Kharaa, and Yeruu rivers, air temperatures will drop to -28...-33°C. In the basins of the Zag-Baidrag, Ider, Eg, Uur, Selenge, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, and Ulz rivers, as well as in the Khalkh River valley and the Darygansk steppe, temperatures are expected to range from -22 to -28°C. In the Altai Mountains and the foothills of the Khangai Mountains, temperatures will fluctuate between -6 and -11°C, in the southeastern Gobi from -10 to -15°C, and in other regions from -15 to -20°C.

As for Ulaanbaatar, variable cloudiness is expected with no precipitation. The wind will be from the northwest at a speed of 3-8 meters per second, and air temperatures are forecasted to be between -15...-17°C.

On the morning of February 6, Ulaanbaatar recorded -26°C, with a relative humidity of 67% and an atmospheric pressure of 879 hectopascals. This pressure is expected to remain stable throughout the day.
