
According to the Ministry of Labor, among the kandas arriving in Kazakhstan, 44.5% are from Uzbekistan, 44.1% from China, 4% from Turkmenistan, 3% from Mongolia, 2.5% from Russia, and 1.9% from other countries.
Of the total number of migrants arriving in 2025, 57.4% are of working age, 34% are minors, and 8.6% are retirees. Among the kandas of working age, 15% have higher education, 27.5% have secondary specialized education, 51.2% have general secondary education, and 6.3% have no education.
Regions with a labor shortage have been designated for the settlement of kandas, such as Akmolinsk, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan regions, and Abai region. As a result, by the end of 2025, 2,309 kandas have been settled in these regions.
The Ministry also reported that in 2025, 1,834 kandas received various forms of support, including the employment of 428 people in permanent jobs and certificates for economic mobility for the purchase and construction of housing for 586 families.
Since 1991, 1,164.8 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have returned to their homeland.
