Osh State University successfully demonstrated its capabilities in 2025, ranking 316th among 1,526 universities in the QS Rankings Asia 2026, as well as 22nd out of 74 universities in Central Asia.
As part of the transition to University 4.0, OshSU is implementing an innovative system that connects education, science, production, and commercialization, aiming to address the socio-economic challenges of the region. The university is actively introducing dual education programs, has established independent standards, and ensured academic and financial autonomy. The sustainable development model of the university has been successfully implemented from 2023 to 2026.
OshSU has expanded cooperation on dual diploma programs with foreign partners. In 2022, the universities entered the QS Sustainable Development Rankings, where OshSU ranked 1251st for social impact and 1107th for governance. As a result, the university made it to the TOP-1500.
Additionally, OshSU received 4 stars in the QS Stars ranking.
The main advantage of the university has become the development of commercialization of scientific projects and attracting investments in innovations, which has strengthened its position on the international stage.
Transformation of OshSU to 4th Generation Universities
The university is actively working on integrating education, science, and production. For example, a scientific center, IRCAPS, has been created to study air pollution and its effects on health. Measurement devices will be installed both inside and outside buildings. Scientists from Tokyo will collaborate with OshSU experts at the center.
Furthermore, a center for early diagnosis of oncological diseases is planned to be opened in the new medical clinic of OshSU, where new programs in oncology, radiology, and medical informatics will be offered, including modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and bioinformatics.
Currently, the Center for Satellite Analysis, the Innovation Center for Critical Minerals of Central Asia, and the Consulting Center for the Preservation of Mountain Ecosystems and "green" innovations are operational.

More than 10% of leading scientists in Kyrgyzstan work at OshSU. Here are some figures.
Osh State University ranks among the leaders in the country in terms of the number of faculty members with academic degrees. In 2025, 5 doctoral and 39 candidate dissertations were defended, increasing the total number of candidates of sciences and doctors to 600.
This year, 351 articles by OshSU scientists were published in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus database. Since 2021, the number of publications has increased sixfold and now stands at 857 articles.
OshSU's research ranks 4th in Kyrgyzstan for the number of scientific articles published in well-known global journals with high impact factors. The journal "Bulletin of Osh State University" demonstrates growth in impact factor, and scientific achievements are reaching an international level.
The university focuses on solving socio-economic problems and has implemented projects worth 51 million soms over the past five years thanks to internal grants. In the 2025-2026 academic year, 30 innovative projects were implemented, including 3 national and 8 international ones. OshSU actively integrates scientific and production projects in accordance with the 4.0 model and has signed 8 agreements.

Unique Operations in the Medical Clinic: 2025
The medical clinic of the university has performed unique operations, such as kidney transplants, heart stent placements, and closure of congenital defects.
In 2025, the clinic achieved significant success in transplantation – doctors, together with their Russian colleagues, performed two kidney transplants, and in November, a liver transplant was successfully carried out.
This year, a pacemaker was implanted for the first time. Endovascular surgeries were performed on 82 patients, and 6,000 people received outpatient treatment. 6,685 staff and students underwent medical examinations, and 1,800 students underwent preventive check-ups. More than 2,000 patients were treated in the therapeutic department, and assistance was provided to 105 patients in critical condition in the intensive care unit. A total of 110 operations were performed in the clinic, including 20 cardiovascular suturing procedures.
Additionally, as part of the "Health Caravan" project, doctors provided free medical assistance to about a thousand rural residents monthly.
By the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, a modern 7-story medical clinic is being built on the basis of the old city hospital, with completion scheduled for 2026. The area of the new campus will be 2 hectares, with departments in 9 areas and 6 research centers. If the clinic opens, it will help stop the outflow of doctors.
Osh State University is becoming a center for experimental, scientific, and clinical medicine in the southern region.
Dual Education: Over 100 OshSU Students
In 2025, the university successfully developed dual diploma programs and actively collaborates with universities from Russia, Kazakhstan, and China in 22 specialties.
Currently, OshSU has more than 20 dual diploma programs, with over 100 students enrolled. Within these programs, they study for two years at OshSU and two years at the partner university, receiving two diplomas simultaneously. These programs have been developing since 2018.
The number of foreign students arriving through exchange programs in the 2024-2025 academic year exceeded 10,000, the majority of whom are from Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, and Russia. The process of internationalization began in 2018.
Agreements on joint educational programs have been concluded with leading universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and China in 32 specialties, of which 22 are already actively implemented. 12 master's students studied at Belgorod, Tomsk universities, and the Russian Peoples' Friendship University, receiving two diplomas. In the 2024-2025 academic year, 41 teachers from the USA, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Korea, Japan, China, and other countries came to OshSU.

OshSU Business Park: Investments Exceeding 3 Million Soms
On the territory of OshSU, a business park operates that supports the development of student startups. In 2025, assistance was provided to 21 startup teams, and the projects G-Face and ZN Inclusive received grants totaling 851,000 soms. Over the year, 602 students underwent training, and 51 startups are successfully operating, creating 89 permanent jobs.
In 2025, 14 new startups were launched, which received more than 3 million soms in the form of investments and grants, creating 23 new jobs.
The total volume of investments attracted by the business park exceeds 16.5 million soms.

More than 1,000 OshSU students have studied at the best foreign universities through academic mobility.
In 2025, the university expanded its international connections, educating over 800 foreign students and teachers in the last five years. More than 1,200 of our students also studied under academic mobility programs at leading educational institutions worldwide.
The university actively works to promote the Kyrgyz language and culture, opening cultural and educational centers at the Eurasian National University named after Gumilyov in Kazakhstan and the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after A. Navoi. There are also centers for the Kazakh language and culture at ENU and the Uzbek language at TashGU under OshSU.
Additionally, a center named after Lomonosov of Moscow State University has been opened at OshSU.
This year, Osh State University became the head coordinating university of the SCO in Kyrgyzstan.
Another news: our university received the chairmanship in the Coordination Council of the Eurasian Network University (ENU). In 2026, OshSU will chair these international organizations, highlighting the trust in our university.

Sports Achievements of OshSU in 2025
2025 was also a successful year for the university in the sports field. At the U-20 World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship in Bulgaria, OshSU student Zhantoro Mirzaliev won a gold medal, becoming the sixth world champion in the history of Kyrgyzstan.
Free wrestler Oskonbay Abdisamatov won a silver medal at the 2025 Champions Cup. Additionally, OshSU students are showing high results at world and Asian championships, as well as at international competitions.
The OshSU football club ranked 6th in the Kyrgyz Premier League and received a Foton bus as a reward. The university team temporarily received the new "Manas" stadium in Karasu.
The volleyball team "University-OshSU" became the champion of the Higher League, while the women's team took second place in the National League and won the President's Cup of the Volleyball Federation.
The basketball club "BK University OshSU" ranked third in the national championship.
At the Kyrgyzstan Universiade, OshSU ranked fourth in the overall standings, winning prizes in ten sports. Among the staff, the university took first place at the "Den Sooluk" sports festival.

Student Achievements in 2025
This year, nine OshSU students received the presidential scholarship, which is the highest award for students in Kyrgyzstan. Ten students were awarded the "Atuuldik" named scholarship, which is compared to the Nobel Prize. These students will receive 12,000 soms per month for a year. In the 2024-2025 academic year, the AVN program identified the "TOP-20 students of OshSU," each of whom received 10,000 soms and valuable gifts.
This year, a named scholarship from Professor Kanybek Isakov was also established, which was awarded to 10 students in the amount of 10,000 soms.
OshSU students have achieved success in olympiads and competitions. In 2025, about 100 students participated in the XII regional olympiad, half of whom became winners.

Digitalization at the University: New Platforms
The university has developed a comprehensive roadmap for digitalization for 2024-2029.
Based on this roadmap, the automated information digital platform MyEDU operates, allowing students to create an individual learning trajectory.
Additionally, a digital educational portal for distance learning, mooc.oshsu.kg, has been opened, where online resources for undergraduate and master's students are available. To improve the quality of distance learning, a video studio was created, where about 300 video lessons were prepared over the year.
The process of obtaining certificates has been fully automated and transferred to the platform next.oshsu.kg, simplifying students' lives and reducing the risk of corruption.

Infrastructure Development: New Buildings and Renovations
In 2025, the "Yiman" lyceum was renovated and put back into operation. A kindergarten for 100 places has been updated. Currently, a 7-story medical clinic is being built on Kurmanjan-Datka Street, 157. A 2-story practice center is being constructed on the territory of vocational lyceum No. 12, and a 9-story dormitory is being built on the land plot of OshSU at Monuev, 5.
Throughout the year, all educational buildings were renovated, and classrooms, assembly halls, and conference rooms were updated. The university's furniture workshop produced new furniture, including cabinets, tables, and chairs.
Today, OshSU has the largest infrastructure in the country, including 32 educational buildings, 2 medical clinics, 10 student dormitories, and 2 faculty dormitories, modern sports complexes, Congress Resort OshSU, and a boarding house on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
