Information about the incident was provided by the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan. The collapse occurred at the school named after Islam Kasmaliev, which has a capacity of 150 places and is being built in the village of Min-Bulak in the Tyup district of the Issyk-Kul region.

The construction of the facility began in 2023, and it is being erected by the charitable foundation "As-Salam," with the contractor being LLC "Energy-Nur Stroy." Currently, the school has not yet been put into operation.

According to the ministry, during the final works on the roof installation, the facility had not been accepted by the Issyk-Kul regional office of the State Architectural and Construction Control Department. The contractor had previously received warnings.

On the night of January 18, 2026, due to heavy snowfall, part of the school's roof collapsed.

As a result of the incident, the contractor LLC "Energy-Nur Stroy" was issued a written warning and instructed to restore the roof. The Ministry of Construction reported that the school's roof has already been fully restored. Additionally, the contractor was fined 200,000 soms, and the issue of suspending its license will be discussed at a commission meeting.

After verification by the authorized bodies and receiving a positive conclusion, the official commissioning of the facility is planned.
