At the UFC Fight Night 269 tournament in Las Vegas, where he fought American Chris Curtis, Orolbay set a new record in the welterweight division with 19 takedowns — the third-best result in UFC history.

The first place in this category is held by Khabib Nurmagomedov, a 37-year-old member of the UFC Hall of Fame and former lightweight champion. The second position is held by Merab Dvalishvili, the recent holder of the UFC bantamweight title.

Miktybek Orolbay expressed his intention to set a new record in his next fight, stating: “In the next fight, I will make even more takedowns” at the press conference after the tournament.

The athlete also shared that during his preparation for the fight with Curtis, he observed fasting, and this bout turned out to be challenging for him.
