At the World Sports Summit in Dubai, Khabib Nurmagomedov shared that before joining the UFC, he did not have any nickname. However, in 2012, when he signed a contract with the promotion, the organization's representatives suggested that he choose a nickname, as his first and last name are difficult to pronounce.
The fighter chose "Eagle" as a symbol of Dagestan, his homeland. Over time, as Nurmagomedov became a well-known figure in the world of MMA, the need for a nickname disappeared, as fans learned to pronounce his name correctly.
Khabib ended his career with an impressive record: 29 wins without a single loss, and to this day remains one of the most significant figures in UFC history.
