At the World Sports Summit held in Dubai, FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that in 2026 the city will host the Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony.
These awards celebrate outstanding football players and coaches, both male and female, as well as teams. The winners are determined through a voting process that includes fans, journalists, and captains and coaches of national teams.
Infantino expressed his excitement about the new partnership, stating: "We are pleased to announce a new partnership that will allow us to honor the best players, coaches, and teams here in Dubai. Football unites the whole world, and we will enjoy this unity."
At the ceremony held in Doha in 2025, the title of Best Player in the World was awarded to French forward Ousmane Dembélé, while the Best Female Player was recognized as Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmatí.
