On December 28, a solemn event took place in Bishkek, where the best athletes of Kyrgyzstan for 2025 were announced according to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
During the opening of the ceremony, the head of the agency presented a report on the achievements of Kyrgyz athletes over the past year and announced important sporting events that will take place in 2026 with the participation of our athletes.
Among the upcoming events are: the third division games of the World Ice Hockey Championship in Bishkek in February, the Winter Olympics in Italy, the Asian Wrestling Championship in Bishkek, the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan, and the Asian Games in Japan.
Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov also spoke at the ceremony, noting a significant increase in the sports budget — from 600 million to 2.5 billion soms. "This does not include expenses for the construction of sports facilities, such as the 'Zhashtyk' arena, built this year," he added.
Baisalov emphasized that the agenda is not only about achieving individual successes but also about creating infrastructure for training future champions.
At the end of Baisalov's speech, an award ceremony was held for athletes who showed outstanding results, receiving cash certificates from the state. The winners for 2025 were then announced.
In the category of "Best Athlete of the Year" in Olympic sports, boxer Omar Livaza was recognized, while the best female athlete was Aiperi Medet kyzy.
In the "Breakthrough of the Year" category in Olympic sports, gymnast Zlata Arkhatova and swimmer Denis Petrashov won.
The Coach of the Year was recognized as Azat Mirakhimov, a wrestling coach.
Among the Paralympians, the title of Female Athlete of the Year went to judoka Aibiyke Ulanbek kyzy, while the Male Athlete of the Year was Jalalidin Abduvaliev. The "Breakthrough of the Year" among Paralympians was awarded to Bekbolsun Toktosun uulu and Aigul Mutalipova, and the best coach of the year was Tolkunbek Isakov.
Among the Deaflympians, the best athlete was Smadiyar Jumakadyrov, "Breakthrough of the Year" was recognized as Adilet Japarkulov, and Coach of the Year was Farhat Ushurov.
In non-Olympic sports, the titles of best athletes were awarded to sambist Bekbolot Toktogonov and Dilbara Imankanova (mas-wrestling). "Breakthrough of the Year" went to kickboxer Akhror Rozbaev and Begimai Orozalieva (WKF karate). Coach of the Year was recognized as Azamat Kazakbaev.
Best athletes in national sports were also determined: the Athlete of the Year was Azizkhan Musabek uulu (Kyrgyz wrestling), and the Female Athlete of the Year was Aizhan Anarbekova (Kyrgyz wrestling). "Breakthrough of the Year" among them was awarded to Imanali Sagynali uulu (wrestling) and Begai Beishenaly kyzy (Kyrgyz wrestling). The best coach in this category was Azizbek Aitmurza uulu.
