Since 2024, Azat Mirakhimov has been the head coach of the national freestyle wrestling team of Kyrgyzstan. Over the past year, his students have achieved significant success: Ernazar Akmataliev won the Asian Championship, and Orozobek Toktomambetov took home the silver medal. Additionally, at the World Championship, Bekzat Almaz uulu reached the finals, while Ernazar Akmataliev secured a bronze medal.
Among the other contenders for this award were Nurbek Izabekov (women's wrestling), Ulukbek Karacholokov (Greco-Roman wrestling), Daniyar Tologon uulu (boxing), and Evgeny Petrashov (swimming).
